We had a delightful stay at Hetland Hall, a charming manor house with beautiful grounds. the staff were friendly and informative, and it was a nostalgic visit for me as I had been a pupil there 50 years ago. the bed was one of the best I've ever slept on, and the cleanliness throughout the hotel was fantastic. We enjoyed taking walks around the grounds and would highly recommend Hetland Hall to others. Cons: Could not be improved in any way. 😊.

I liked its location and surrounding countryside .Within easy driving distance to Dumfries and Carlisle . Staff are generally very helpful . I loved the open fireplace on entering the main Hall , it gave a very relaxing/country feel to the place . Breakfast was very good , Eleanor was so friendly and helpful .
I was dissapointed in the Menu , very plain ,no variation of choice between Lunch and Evening meals. Nothing for children to do within the Hotel to keep them entertained

The hotel boasts a lovely setting in rolling countryside, with easy access to nearby towns and villages. the recently refurbished rooms are superb, with unexpected spaciousness, comfortable beds, excellent bathroom facilities, and sitting and desk areas. the bar food is good, and the staff are friendly and helpful. the hotel's appearance is well-maintained, and the overall standard is of high quality.
The hotel staff made me feel welcomed into the family and went above and beyond to accommodate any requests. Nothing was too much trouble for them.

I liked the retained "country house" atmosphere. The staff were very helpful.
The shower tray was very slippy. Great care had to be taken. A shower mat would have helped.

I recently had the most fabulous stay at Hetland Hall. It was our first time staying at a hotel in the RAD Group, and we were not disappointed. We decided to upgrade to the penthouse suite for our anniversary, and it was pure bliss. The room was luxurious and beautifully decorated, exceeding our expectations. We stayed for two nights and enjoyed a lovely walk on the beach in Southernness before returning to the hotel to relax. The staff were always busy but incredibly friendly and welcoming. While it could sometimes take a while for our order to be taken, we were there to relax, so it wasn't a big issue for us. The food was excellent, although I was disappointed that the hot breakfast choice was limited to a full Scottish breakfast. I would have loved to have eggs Benedict, but I never asked if they could make it for me. Nonetheless, the breakfast consisted of high-quality produce and was well cooked. We had such a wonderful time that we have already booked to go back in February. I can't wait to return to Hetland Hall for another fabulous stay.

Excellent location just outside of Dumfries where there are many restaurants if you do not wish to eat evening meals in the hotel. The hotel sits in a beautiful setting with views - if fortunate enough across the Solway countryside.

I recently stayed at Hetland Hall Hotel for a weekend getaway. The building itself is impressive and the surroundings are tranquil, despite its proximity to a busy road. The reception staff were friendly and welcoming upon arrival. The room was beautifully decorated and the bed and pillows were incredibly comfortable. I especially loved the spacious shower with a rainfall head. The staff, including the managers and servers, were all polite and friendly, making both dinner and breakfast enjoyable experiences. The food quality was also excellent.
Strongly recommend this hotel.
